PM TECH: L5 iPHONE REMOTE

Although Apple doesn’t look like it will be building one in anytime soon, the L5 iPhone Remote ($50; 2010) is here to fill the void. This miniscule Dock-connecting accessory and companion app let you “build” your own interface using a library of buttons within the app, and then use the on-screen remote to control damn near any product you’d like using nothing but your iPhone or iPod touch.

PM TECH: APPLE IPAD TABLET

(AP) Apple will sell its newly unveiled tablet-style iPad starting at $499.

The iPad resembles an iPhone, but larger. Apple will sell some iPad models with data plans from AT&T, with no contract required.

Apple Inc. will have to convince consumers, many of whom already have Internet-connected phones, computers and TVs, that they'll want to pay that much for such a device, when many small, lightweight "netbooks" cost less than $400.

CEO Steve Jobs says the iPad will be better for reading books, playing games and watching video than either a laptop or a smart phone.

The initial price is likely to drop. Apple sold the first iPhone for $599 but slashed the price to $399 after a few months, upsetting early buyers.

PM TECH: G1 GLASS POOL TABLE BY NOTTAGE DESIGN

This is dope and very creative. It's not the hottest pool table we've seen but definitely one to look into.

Nottage Design pool tables blend ultra modern styling and new patented technology.
The transparent playing area is composed of the patented Vitrik transparent playing surface on top of a 15mm toughened glass top.

Our glass is premium quality and toughened so it’s 4-6 times stronger than standard glass. Glass is very rigid and flat, and isn’t prone to sagging or warping, so provides a great alternative to slate for a game of pool.

The Vitrik playing surface replicates rolling resistance of an average-speed cloth, is hard wearing and allows spin(English) to be applied and retains consistent roll characteristics over it’s lifetime.

Completely visible integrated ball return system makes a feature of pocketed balls, no more guessing what ball just went in! The ball return is built into the frame for the ultimate aesthetics.

Created to be the ultimate pool table. Period. It fills the need for a truly unique and cutting edge designer pool table for the latest in modern interiors. Why settle for an outdated design?

Australian RRP $43,900 AUD includes GST, accessory kit and shipping to Australian metropolitan areas (with standard ground floor access and installation)

Accessory kit includes: high quality 2.25” balls; triangle; 2 matching silver cues and bridge stick.

PM TECH: SPRINT OVERDRIVE 3G/4G MOBILE HOTSPOT

You might want to consider this for your office or home office.

Sprint announced today the upcoming availability of Overdrive(TM) 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot by Sierra Wireless. Overdrive allows you to connect up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices simultaneously--including laptops, gaming devices, cameras and even smartphones from other carriers--through a single connection (via Wi-Fi), to a network that is up to 10 times faster than today's 3G speeds from any national wireless carrier.1 There's no need to wait for 4G devices to enjoy the benefits of 4G: Overdrive creates a connection between the Sprint 4G network and virtually all of the hundreds of millions of Wi-Fi-enabled electronics devices owned by or available to customers today.
"This device delivers the connected lifestyle to our customers in overdrive," said Dan Hesse, Sprint CEO. "The fact that it connects up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices is especially meaningful because at 4G speeds, customers can download and upload more data--gigabytes, not megabytes--in a matter of seconds. The Overdrive on the 4G network is made for the multitude of bandwidth-hungry applications customers want to access wirelessly, like video streaming. 4G beats 3G for speed and for value."

In Home:
Through a single connection, you can bypass your cable provider and stream HD movies from content distribution providers (such as Netflix, Amazon and Blockbuster) right to your TV; connect your Xbox 360 and game real-time with someone located across the globe; move pictures wirelessly from your camera to a digital picture frame and surf the Web on your laptop while streaming Pandora.

In The Dorm:
Connect virtually anywhere on a campus with 4G coverage at 4G speeds: Turn your iPod Touch with Skype into a voice phone and make a call, or stream a live movie from Hulu or Netflix to your laptop.

On-The-Go
Whether you're on a long trip or running a busy day of errands, use Overdrive to keep passengers entertained in the car.2 Stream your favorite TV show from Hulu to your Netbook; use a PSP gaming device to access multiple games and content; download music to your Zune HD; and turn your 3G iPhone into a 4G device. It's all very simple with Overdrive.

Mobile Office
Join a video conference, download large files, conduct a virtual home tour and stay in constant contact with your office via unified communications.

Move Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot to the workplace and the benefits are even greater with enhanced Wi-Fi performance, increased productivity and improved cost savings. Set up and redeploy easily and quickly for a small workgroup; back-up or replace costly wireline connections to small branches, retail locations or home offices; cost-effectively share one connection on one plan when mobile with other employees and customers; use as excellent "power up and go" mobile solution to maintain connectivity for business/emergency continuity; and easily perform multiple functions with constant connectivity and real-time access to corporate data.

"At Best Buy, we see an amazing amount of new devices and products from mobile phones to televisions to gaming consoles that are designed to connect and interact with each other. This kind of connectivity is very exciting, but it can also be complicated to maximize unless you actually see it and understand it," said Brian Dunn, Best Buy CEO. "In combination with Best Buy's skilled and passionate associates, the Sprint Overdrive will allow us to showcase our in-store experience by demonstrating how various Wi-Fi- enabled products work and connect together, whether in the home, on-the-go or both."

As the first dual-mode device of its kind, Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot can be used on both the Sprint 4G network and Sprint's Mobile Broadband Network, America's most dependable 3G network.3 This flexibility allows customers to enjoy 4G performance in any Sprint 4G market or to use Sprint's reliable 3G mobile broadband network when outside a 4G area. Sprint 4G is already available in 27 markets and continues to expand to new cities, bringing wireless speeds up to 10 times faster than today's 3G from any other national wireless carrier.

"Sierra Wireless places a high priority on making our products simple to use, and we have put considerable time and effort into ensuring that Overdrive3G/4G Mobile Hotspotdelivers the easiest user experience of any mobile hotspot on the market," said Jason Cohenour, CEO of Sierra Wireless. "Its simplicity, combined with its compact portability, and security, makes Overdrive3G/4G Mobile Hotspotideal for both personal and business use in a variety of situations."

Key features of Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot include a LCD that provides important information such as battery life and internet connection status, as well as an easy-to-use web interface for customizing settings. Overdrive 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot also includes built-in GPS capability (on 3G), MicroSD slot for up to 16 GB memory cards creating shared storage with up to five connected devices, and an extended Wi-Fi range of up to 150 feet.

PM TECH: THE DJ IS DEAD!!!

Wow, Technics, the creators of the 1200s and 1210s has stopped all production on they're highly praised turntables.

In a statement re-posted on dance board Global Hardstyle, the company behind the production of the Technics turntables Panasonic announced that they would cease the manufacture of Tehcnics turntables in February next year, citing an increasing decline in sales as the motivation behind the line’s demise. The Australian arm of Panasonic issued a similar statement today, expressing their disappointment that the brand’s 35 years-and-running legacy was to be put to bed.“It is a sad day today but due to low sales globally in analogue turntables a decision to stop production has been made on Technics Turntables,” Panasonic spokesman Ian North explained. “For Australia this means we will receive our last shipment in March.” The turntables have been around for more than 35 years, and are featured in the London museum of Science and Technology as an important step in how music has been played and presented over the last century. Their popularity has ensued due to their tank-like construction, high torque and effective insulation from acoustic feedback.

PM TECH: MOTOROLA DROID

It seems Verizon maybe trying to fluid the market with phone that will compete against the iPhone.

The Motorola Droid is set to be released Nov. 6, has a lot of buzz all due to the iDon't commercial that's being airing as of late. Spec wise, the Droid lives up to it's expectation. The 3.7 inch display screen is full of pixels, with 854×480 resolutions that makes for 267ppi, Apple's iPhone only 165ppi. And if you like things old school, the Droid comes with a full QWERTY keyboard.
