During the Health Care Summit today Sen. John McCain shot another dart at President Obama and the Democrats in Congress. He cited "unsavory" deals made by Democratic leadership in the Senate, argued that Obama had broken his promise to have previous health care negotiations live on C-Span and called on President Obama to "start over." Check out how the President handle the situation.

PM POLITICS: IS THE U.S. TO BLAME FOR THE EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI???
Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez thinks so. Chavez stated that the 7.0 earthquake was caused by a U.S. test of an experimental shockwave system that can also create "weather anomalies to cause floods, droughts and hurricanes." Chavez cited a report from Russia’s Northern Fleet. The reports claims the U.S. Navy made a mistake with a secret “earthquake weapon” and the result was the Haitian earthquake. So why are the US testing a tectonic weapon in the first place???
The report also claims the tectonic weapon is to target Iran in a up and coming war. Russia knows firsthand about tectonic weapon since they've been accused of possessing and utilizing such weapons themselves in the past. The report also states the U.S. government’s HAARP program, an atmospheric research facility in Alaska are responsible for the Jan. 9 quake in Eureka, Calif., and may have been behind the 7.8-magnitude quake in China that killed nearly 90,000 people in 2008.
All we have to say is interesting...

PM POLITICS: PRESIDENT OBAMA'S ANTI-TERROR STRATEGY

(AP) President Barack Obama asserted on Tuesday the government had enough information to foil the attempted bombing on a Christmas Day airline flight but intelligence agencies "failed to connect those dots" and left nearly 300 passengers and crew in peril.Obama called that unacceptable. "I will not tolerate it," he said.
The accused attacker, 23-year-old Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, has claimed ties to al-Qaida. Witnesses said he ignited an explosive mixture but it failed to do serious damage to the Northwest jetliner or its passengers, and he was subdued by other passengers and airline crew members on the Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines flight.
Obama, speaking after meeting with his Cabinet and national security team, declared, "We have to do better, and we will do better. And we will do it quickly."
But while he expressed clear displeasure with the U.S. failure to prevent the suspect from boarding a U.S.-bound flight, Obama did not announce any firings or job reassignments.
According to a White House statement released later, Obama told his gathering of officials: "This was a screw-up that could have been disastrous. We dodged a bullet but just barely. It was averted by brave individuals, not because the system worked, and that is not acceptable."
"While there will be a tendency for finger pointing, I will not tolerate it," he told the high-level officials, according to the statement.
Obama also said he was suspending the transfer of Guantanamo detainees to Yemen. The Christmas attack has raised concerns about Yemen, because the Nigerian man has claimed to have been acting on instructions from al-Qaida operatives in that country.
Nearly half of the 198 terror suspect detainees held at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba are from Yemen. But Obama reiterated his vow to eventually close the camp.
"Make no mistake, we will close Guantanamo prison," Obama said. The camp, he said, "was an explicit rationale for the formation of al-Qaida" operating in Yemen.
As for the Christmas attack, Obama said it exposed "a potentially disastrous" security failure.
He spoke after a White House meeting with the officials charged with carrying out two reviews he has ordered. Obama spelled out recent changes in security protocols for airline flights and changes to the government's watchlist of suspected terrorists.
Obama told reporters the security lapse didn't have to do with the collection of information but with the failure to integrate and analyze what was there. The bottom line, he said was that the government had "sufficient information to uncover this plot and potentially disrupt the Christmas Day attack."
"Our intelligence community failed to connect those dots which would have placed the suspect on the no-fly list," he said. "This was not a failure to collect intelligence, it was a failure to integrate and understand the intelligence that we already have."
Obama said that it was clear the government knew that the suspect, Abdulmutallab, had traveled to Yemen and joined with extremists there.
"It now turns out that our intelligence community knew of other red flags that al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula sought to strike not only American targets in Yemen, but the United States itself. And we had information that this group was working with an individual ... who we now know was in fact the individual involved in the Christmas attack," he said.
The later White House statement said the leaders of each agency at the meeting took responsibility for failures at their respective organizations and there was no attempt at the kind of finger-pointing Obama said he would not tolerate.
Each agency "brought to the table steps they've already taken to improve their systems and make the American people safer," some of which were mentioned by the president in his public remarks, the statement said.
Some of the tougher procedures Obama demanded have already been put in place.
The Transportation Security Administration directed airlines, beginning Monday, to give full-body, pat-down searches to U.S.-bound travelers from Yemen, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and 11 other countries.
Before Obama's comments, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the president still has full confidence in his three top national security officials: Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair, CIA Director Leon Panetta and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
They were among the 20 high-level officials who sat down with Obama in the White House Situation Room for a meeting that lasted over 90 minutes.
Since the attempted attack, the government has added dozens of names to its lists of suspected terrorists and those barred from flights bound for the United States.
The additions came after U.S. officials scrutinized a larger database of suspected terrorists, an intelligence official said Monday.
People on the watch list are subject to additional scrutiny before they are allowed to enter this country, while anyone on the no-fly list is barred from boarding aircraft in or headed for the United States.
Abdulmutallab remained in federal custody, charged with trying to destroy the Northwest Airlines flight as it approached Detroit. He is alleged to have smuggled an explosive device onboard and set if off. The device sparked only a fire and not the intended explosion.
Abdulmutallab's name was in a huge U.S. database of about 550,000 terror suspects but was not on a list that would have subjected him to additional security screening or kept him from boarding the flight. That omission prompted a review of the National Counterterrorism Center's massive Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment (TIDE) database.

PM POLITICS: RIP PERCY SUTTON
Percy Sutton, the pioneering civil rights attorney who represented Malcolm X before launching successful careers as a political power broker and media mogul, has died. He was 89.Marissa Shorenstein, a spokeswoman for Gov. David Paterson, confirmed that Sutton died Saturday. She did not know the cause. His daughter, Cheryl Sutton, declined to comment Saturday when reached by phone at her New York City home.
The son of a former slave, Percy Sutton became a fixture on 125th Street in Harlem after moving to New York City following his service with the famed Tuskegee Airmen in World War II. His Harlem law office, founded in 1953, represented Malcolm X and the slain activist's family for decades.
The consummate politician, Sutton served in the New York State Assembly before taking over as Manhattan borough president in 1966, becoming the highest-ranking black elected official in the state.
Sutton also mounted unsuccessful campaigns for the U.S. Senate and mayor of New York, and served as political mentor for the Rev. Jesse Jackson's two presidential races.
Jackson recalled Sutton talking about electing a black president as early as 1972. Sutton was influential in getting his 1984 campaign going, he said.
"He never stopped building bridges and laying the groundwork," Jackson said Sunday. "We are very glad to be the beneficiaries of his work."
In a statement released Saturday night, Gov. David Paterson called Sutton a mentor and "one of New York's and this nation's most influential African-American leaders."
"Percy was fiercely loyal, compassionate and a truly kind soul," Paterson said. "He will be missed but his legacy lives on through the next generations of African-Americans he inspired to pursue and fulfill their own dreams and ambitions."
President Barack Obama called Sutton "a true hero" to African-Americans across the country.
"His life-long dedication to the fight for civil rights and his career as an entrepreneur and public servant made the rise of countless young African-Americans possible," Obama said in a statement.
In 1971, with his brother Oliver, Sutton purchased WLIB-AM, making it the first black-owned radio station in New York City. His Inner City Broadcasting Corp. eventually picked up WBLS-FM, which reigned for years as New York's top-rated radio station, before buying stations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Detroit and San Antonio between 1978-85.
The Texas purchase marked a homecoming for the suave and sophisticated Sutton, born in San Antonio on Nov. 24, 1920, the youngest of 15 children.
Among Sutton's other endeavors was his purchase and renovation of the famed Apollo Theater when the Harlem landmark's demise appeared imminent.
"The Apollo and its staff stand on the shoulders of Mr. Sutton as the theater continues to flourish," said Jonelle Procope, president and CEO of Apollo Theater Foundation Inc. "(He) will be greatly missed and will always be an integral part of the Apollo legacy."
Sutton's father, Samuel, was born into slavery just before the Civil War. The elder Sutton became principal at a segregated San Antonio high school, and he made education a family priority: All 12 of his surviving children attended college.
When he was 13, Percy Sutton endured a traumatic experience that drove him inexorably into the fight for racial equality. A police officer approached Sutton as the teen handed out NAACP pamphlets. "N-----, what are you doing out of your neighborhood?" he asked before beating the youth.
When World War II arrived, Sutton's enlistment attempts were rebuffed by Southern white recruiters. The young man went to New York, where he was accepted and joined the Tuskegee Airmen.
After the war, Sutton earned a law degree in New York while working as a post office clerk and a subway conductor. He served again as an Air Force intelligence officer during the Korean War before returning to Harlem in 1953 and establishing his law office with brother Oliver and a third partner, George Covington.
In addition to representing Malcolm X for a decade until his 1965 assassination, the Sutton firm handled the cases of more than 200 defendants arrested in the South during the 1963-64 civil rights marches. Sutton was also elected to two terms as president of the New York office of the NAACP.
After Malcolm's assassination, Sutton worked as lawyer for Malcolm's widow, Betty Shabazz. He represented her grandson, 12-year-old Malcolm Shabazz, when the youth was accused of setting a 1997 fire that caused her death.
Sutton was elected to the state Legislature in 1965, and quickly emerged as spokesman for its 13 black members. His charisma and eloquence led to his selection as Manhattan borough president in 1966, completing the term of Constance Baker Motley, who was appointed federal judge.
Two years later, Sutton announced a run for the U.S. Senate seat held by Jacob Javits, although he pulled out of the Democratic primary to back Paul O'Dwyer.
Sutton remained in his Manhattan job through 1977, the same year he launched a doomed campaign for mayor that ended with Edward I. Koch defeating six competitors for the Democratic nomination.
Sutton was among the first voices raised against the Vietnam War, surrendering his delegate's seat at the 1968 Democratic convention in protest and supporting anti-war candidate George McGovern four years later against incumbent President Richard Nixon.
In addition to his radio holdings, Sutton also headed a group that owned The Amsterdam News, the second largest black weekly newspaper in the country. The paper was later sold.
Sutton's devotion to Harlem and its people was rarely more evident than when he spent $250,000 to purchase the shuttered Apollo Theater in 1981. The Apollo turned 70 in 2004, a milestone that was unthinkable until Sutton stepped in to save the landmark.
Sutton "retired" in 1991, but his work as an adviser, mentor and confidante to politicians and businessmen never abated. He was among a group of American businessmen selected during the Clinton administration to attend meetings with the Group of Seven (G-7) Nations in 1995-96.
"He was a great man," said Charles Warfield Jr., the president and chief operating officer of ICBC Broadcast Holdings Inc., when reached early Sunday. He declined to comment further out of respect for the wishes of Sutton's family.
The Rev. Al Sharpton said he last visited Sutton in a nursing home Wednesday. He recalled meeting Sutton for the first time at age 12; Four years later, Sutton paid for his trip to a national black political convention because the teenage Sharpton couldn't afford to go.
"He personified the black experience of the 20th century," Sharpton said. "He started the century where blacks were victims. We ended as victors."
Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Sunday that flags on city buildings would be lowered in Sutton's honor.

PRESTIGIOUS MAN OF THE YEAR: PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA
Of course it's President Barack Obama.President Obama represents the true make up of a “man”. Many of us men can take notes from President Obama on fatherhood, being a good husband, leadership, compassion, and even basketball. Since announcing his run for presidency, Obama has overcome all the doubters, haters, and naysayers, and became the first black president, in a country that still stands on some old school values. But not only did he become the 44th President of the United States, he also became the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner, which was announced by the Norwegian Nobel Committee on October, 9th 2009. Also, on Christmas Eve after a long battle with the Congress, the Senate Democrats passed landmark health care bill, which will launch semi-universal health-care for the first time in American history.
"We are now finally poised to deliver on the promise of real, meaningful health insurance reform that will bring additional security and stability to the American people," Obama said shortly after the Senate acted.
The passing of this bill could cement President Obama legacy in American history.
Besides, any man that us up at the crack of dawn, on one of the coldest days we've ever experienced in Washington D.C. To be amongst some of the most beautiful people from all over the world during the 2009 Inauguration, has to be PRESTIGIOUS.

PM POLITICS: HEALTH CARE REFORM ROUND 2.

During a town-hall meeting at Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, N.H, President Obama blasted his critics and reassured Americans on the positive aspects Obama Administration health care reform program.
"For all the scare tactics out there, what is truly scary is if we do nothing," the President told the 1,800 in attendance today, urging a town hall audience not to listen to those who seek to "scare and mislead the American people." A provision that he said had caused the uproar would only authorize Medicare to pay doctors for counseling patients about end-of-life care, living wills, hospice care and other issues, if the patients wanted it. It would not "basically pull the plug on grandma because we decided that it's too expensive to let her live anymore," says Obama. Talks regarding Health Care reform will resume when congress returns from August break, but by the way things are looking now, it's going to be a long battle.

PM POLITICS: HEALTH CARE REFORM ROUND 1.
After the president's press conference at the Washington’s Children Medical Center in Washington DC on health-care reform, the GOP is striking back with vengeance. GOP chairman Michael Steele fires back at the president stating that the plan "not only risks our economy, it risks every American's health, too," Steele also stated "Under [the Democratic] plan, costs are going up, and you, the American people, are going to pay." During the press conference president Obama never spoke of price or cost of health-care reform but urged his fellow constituents to act now on this issue, stating "we can't afford the politics of delay and defeat when it comes to health care. Not this time. Not now." Since the president's health-care rating is below 50% with American's, it looks like the GOP are trying to use that energy to show Obama's weakness on this issue, since the smoke has cleared with the auto industry. President Obama needs to assure American's what is in store with the new health-care plan before the GOP run-a-muck with their own bright ideas.

PM POLITICS: WILL THE GM BAILOUT BECOME OBAMA'S "KATRINA"
Well, at least the GOP hope so. Republicans are arguing that the White House has put the taxpayers on the hook for billions of dollars, money that they may never see repaid if the company continues to see a massive decline in sales. The president of Americans for Tax Reform, Grover Norquist stated “This is somewhere in between Baghdad and fixing the flood in Louisiana.” Although that statement may be a little far fetched, the GOP are rebuilding and looking for anything to discredited the president. Even if it means comparing the worst company in the world to Katrina.

PM POLITICS: OBAMA PLANS TO SET NATIONAL EMMISION LIMIT

Looks like President Obama is not done with the auto industry. The Obama Administration will propose the first ever for cars and trucks. The proposal will also set the average mileage requirements to 35.5 miles per gallon by 2016. This proposal also will end the heated battle between statehouses such as California, whom has filed numerous lawsuits regarding gashouse emissions and the Automakers, on emission standards. Over the entire plan will allow more fuel efficient and pollution reducing vehicles on the road, and eliminating the gas guzzlers.

That's five times as many copies as an average issue, and forced TIME to re-print the issue four times. Ebony Magazine in January recorded it's highest single sales in they're 67 years of existence by selling 405,000 off the newsstand when President Obama graced they're cover.

Last Friday President Barack Obama shokk hands with Venezuela's socialist leader Hugo Chavez during the Summit of the Americans in Trinidad and Tobago. Dubbed "The Obama Summit" by a Brazilian diplomat, the President was greeted with smiles, cheers, and steel drums playing. Many Republicans such as Newt Gingrich despise the hand shake between the two. Gingrich stated on Fox and Friends that “Frankly, this does look a lot like Jimmy Carter. Carter tried weakness, and the world got tougher and tougher, because the predators, the aggressors, the anti-Americans, the dictators – when they sense weakness, they all start pushing ahead,” Also Republican senators, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire and John Ensign of Nevada criticized President Obama calling the act "irresponsible," but we think these guys should just give peace a chance. Also during the Summit Obama received a book from Chavez titled Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of Pillage of a Continent, by Eduardo Galeano. The book has skyrocketed off the shelves and is now ranked No.5. Before he Chavez handed Obama the book, it was ranked 54,295.
